  • Assist with month-end close, accruals, analysis, forecast
  • Support the business with new initiatives in a finance capacity
  • 12 month fixed-term contract to work flexibly from our beautiful Sydney office

This is a 12 months fixed term contract where you will contribute to month end close, accounting schedules (such as fixed assets & depreciation, interest calcs, etc), intercompany journals and reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and actuals vs budget analysis. 

Interesting problems you’ll get to solve

  • Production of the month-end Management accounts & Executive reports, including month end journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, etc.
  • Preparation, presentation and analysis of cost centre reports to analyse business efficiency. 
  • Inter-company journals & reconciliations
  • Balance sheet reconciliations & investigation of variances
  • Key reconciliations around Customer Collections, Debt Agency Collections and Merchant Collections and arrears
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Register and depreciation schedules
  • Assist in maintaining Cashflow forecast including all cash movements between the company and trusts
  • Assist to ensure the BAS & FBT return are correct, & provide support around tax requirements as needed
  • Payment Times Reporting, Modern slavery reporting and ABS
  • Own the quarterly commission calculations.
  • Partner rebates calculations and process enhancement.
  • Assist with audit queries & requests
  • Contribute to the evolution & continuous improvement of Zip’s finance processes & procedures

What you’ll bring to the team

  • Qualified CPA/CA or studying towards this
  • Min 2-3 years experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with month-end process.
  • Experience in monthly management reporting, budget to actuals variance analysis and commentary
  • Experience with intercompany & preparing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Solid grasp of accounting standards & principles
  • Intermediate to Advanced level Excel skills.
  • BAS and FBT return experience.
  • Proven experience in process improvement.
